Search Alaska birth records 

From this page you could access every online birth database for the Alaska state, such as Alaska birth certificates, birth records, Alaska birth indexes, birth notices, and other records. 

The Bureau of Vital Statistics reserves vital records, including birth, adoption, marriage, divorce and death and issues certified copy of certificates for events that happened in Alaska. 

An individual could order only the certified copy of his or her own birth certificate. Also, parents may request their own child’s certificate. Other people could access to birth records only after 100 years after the event. 

Required information: 

  • Full name of the child
  • City, village, or place of birth
  • Date of birth
  • Mother’s and father’s full name
  • Your relationship to the person named on file
  • Purpose of the request (legal purposes, personal records, govt. assistance/benefits, inheritance/estate settlement, retirement, insurance/pension, etc.)
  • Contact phone number
  • Your mailing address
  • Signature of the applicant 

Send your request including completed application form, a photocopy of a valid government-issued photo ID and required fee through mail to the one of the Vital Statistics offices in Juneau, Fairbanks or Anchorage with the following addresses:

The fee per certified copy of a certificate is $20.00. Your requests will be processed about 4 weeks after receipt by the office.
