From this page you could access every online birth database for the Connecticut state, such as Connecticut birth certificates, birth records, Connecticut birth indexes, birth notices, and other related records. 

The Connecticut Department of Public Health, the Vital Records Office keeps statewide records for all births, deaths, civil unions, marriages, and other vital events which have took place in the state since July 1, 1897. To access birth records prior to July 1, 1897, you should contact the county where the birth occurred. 

To order a copy of a birth certificate, you should verify your relation to the person by proving that you are: 

  • The person named on the record, and you are at least 18 years old
  • The child or grandchild of the person, and you are at least 18 years of old
  • The guardian, parent, spouse, or grandparent of the person
  • A federal agency or state employee and are authorized by the person who is at least 18 years old
  • An attorney-at-law on behalf of the person or the person’s parent, child, guardian, or surviving spouse
  • An individual authorized by law to get a certificate copy 

(Any person older than 18 can order birth certificates over 100 years old) 

Mail your requests including completed application form, a copy of a photographic identification and required fee to the Vital Records Office addressed at:
