The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Vital Statistics legally handles birth and death records occurred since 1911. The Recorder’s office for each county holds records for events that happened in that county before 1911. Vital records are private in Nevada and can only be released to eligible individuals listed below:

- A direct family member (by marriage or blood) of the registrant
